Welcome to the National Homicide Investigators Association’s new web site. Looking for the Florida Homicide Investigators Association (FHIA)? You are in the right place! Many of our attendees, speakers, and topics are from the national level. The Florida Homicide Investigators Association has now become the National Homicide Investigators Association ( NHIA). The mission of the National Homicide Investigators Association is to provide investigative support, training, and networking opportunities to homicide investigators, prosecutors, forensic technicians, federal agents, military police and death investigation professionals throughout the State of Florida and now, Nationwide. The “cornerstone” of our Association is our low cost, affordable annual training conference related to homicide case management and operational strategy as well as the latest advancements in forensic science and laboratory technologies. Our general objectives shall be to advance the community orientated goals of law enforcement in the specific area of homicide investigations, to advance the educational undertakings among homicide investigators and to promote the welfare of the community. During this annual five-day event, the participants experience notable case presentations and training seminars. In addition, the conference provides an environment for networking, individual case evaluations and discussions of investigative techniques with some of the top investigators and prosecutors in the nation.

The mission of the National Homicide Investigators Association can be summed up to 5 words:

We would like to thank everyone for attending last year’s conference making it one of the largest conferences to date. The National Homicide Investigators Association is already working on topics and presenters for this year’s training conference in 2017. Please check back frequently for updates, topics and speakers for this year’s conference. Also, pictures from last year’s conference will be updated in the near future.


This year’s conference is scheduled for December 3rd – 7th, 2018 at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary Located at 1501 International Parkway, Lake Mary, FL 32746. We are currently planning on many exciting training topics in the field of Homicide Investigations.

As a part of the change over from the Florida Homicide Investigators Association to the National Homicide Investigators Association, all members will now have exclusive access to “Members Only” area of our website. The purpose of the Members area is to provide a secure location for our members to be able to search our member directory for contact information of other Homicide Investigators or other Specialists, view previous class rosters, and to view the NHIA’s tentative monthly newsletter which focuses on cases and issues facing investigators nationwide.
